Electrolysis permanent hair removal

Electrolysis is the only medically recognised treatment for permanent hair removal and is effective for almost all areas of the face and body.
Following regular treatments hair growth will become permanently removed. Treatments are performed using The Sterex Blend system which offers three different modalities; thermolysis, galvanic and the blend which is a combination of low intensity heat and galvanic combined.

We provide a free In-person consultation with a personalised treatment plan and patch test. Alternately we can arrange a telephone consultation so we can discuss your treatment options and answer any further questions.

Your treatments will be performed by Vanessa. With over 32 years of experience, she has gained excellent results for both men and women for different areas of the face and body. She is experienced in treating Transgender women for facial hair removal and clients with hirsutism caused by peri-menopause, post menopause, PCOS and other hormonal conditions.

Electrolysis sessions

Electrolysis sessions start from 15 minutes up to 120 minutes. During the consultation you will be advised on a recommended session time and a bespoke treatment plan. We require all new clients to complete an initial consultation where we will complete an assessment and patch test.

Preperation and after care

Preparation for your treatment:

Hair growth is required to be of a visible length.

Please remember hair growth is in cycles. To achieve permanent results the optimum time to treat is when the regrowth begins to appear through the skin.

Advanced skincare should not be applied for up to 5 days before your treatment and 14 days for aesthetics injectables or skin peeling treatments.

To ease the sensation of your treatment a topical over the counter anaesthetic cream can be applied before you arrive for your treatment. These will need to be obtained from a Pharmacy and should be given under direction of the pharmacist.

After care:

Please follow all after care as this will encourage healthy skin healing following your treatment and protect the skin from any infection.

  • On the evening following your treatment cleanse the area with warm water. If necessary, ice wrapped in a clean paper towel can be applied to reduce any redness.
  •  Apply Aloe vera or Witch-hazel gel to a clean cotton pad to the area in the morning and evening for up to 48 hours. Calamine lotion can also be applied.
  • SPF factor 50 is required for treated areas of the face or body.
  • Avoid touching the area with your hands unless they have been thoroughly cleaned.
  • Avoid heat on the area for 24 hours, including sauna, steam room, sunbeds or excessive exercise.
  • Avoid swimming for 24 hours.
  • Avoid makeup on the area for 12 hours. Mineral makeup is best to apply following treatment.
  • Avoid waxing, threading, and plucking the area between treatments as this will reduce the results of your electrolysis.

An effective skin care programme is essential between treatments, we recommend applying a gentle cleanser and a nourishing moisturiser daily. A superficial exfoliator can be used along with a nourishing mask between treatments and after 7 days.

Advanced skincare should be avoided for at least 7 days after electrolysis treatment.

Regrowth between treatments can be removed by shaving or cutting the hairs to skin level. Hair must be visible for your electrolysis treatment so please leave the area for 3 to 4 days before your next appointment.

Antiseptic cream can be used to soothe any continued irritation after 48 hours.

Cortisone/steroid creams should not be applied at any time during a course of electrolysis.

Please inform us of any changes in health or medication so that we can provide you with the best electrolysis treatment plan.
