Advanced cosmetic procedures

At Essence Electrolysis and Skin, we offer advanced electrolysis treatments using short wave diathermy to safely and effectively address a range of superficial skin blemishes. This method is precise, minimally invasive, and suitable for various skin types.

Vanessa is a fully qualified beauty therapist, certified by CIBTAC (Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology). This internationally recognised accreditation reflects her advanced training, professional competence, and commitment to the highest standards in beauty therapy. In addition to her CIBTAC certification, Vanessa holds a Level 4 qualification in Advanced Electrolysis, enabling her to perform specialist treatments with precision and care.

Initial Consultation and Patch Test Prior to treatment, all clients undergo a comprehensive skin assessment and patch test. This ensures suitability for the procedure and allows us to tailor the treatment plan to individual needs.

Treatment Process The procedure involves the use of a fine probe that delivers a brief electrical current directly to the targeted area. This current produces heat via short wave diathermy, which coagulates or cauterizes the blemish. The body then naturally eliminates the treated tissue through its healing process.

Blemishes we can treat:

Telangiectasia/Thread Veins

These are small, visible red blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin, commonly found on the face and body. They often result from sun exposure, aging, or genetics.

Spider Naevi

Characterized by a central red spot with tiny capillaries radiating outward, resembling a spider’s legs. These are typically found on the face or upper body and may be linked to hormonal changes or liver conditions.

Skin tags

Soft, flesh-coloured growths that hang off the skin. They vary in size and are often found around the neck, underarms, or areas where skin experiences friction, such as skin folds.

Milia

Tiny, white, pearl-like bumps that form just under the skin. Usually appearing around the cheeks and eyes, they are caused by trapped keratin and are common in both adults and infants.

Blood Spots

Cherry Angiomas / Campbell de Morgan Spots. Small, raised red or dark red spots that can vary in size. These benign vascular blemishes are typically found on the torso, arms, or legs and increase with age.

Hair Growth Within Moles

Electrolysis can safely remove hair growing from moles, but only after receiving approval from a GP or dermatologist to ensure the mole is benign.
